This session will give governors an awareness of the legal framework in relation to health and safety and better enable governors to understand their responsibilities. It will explain the process of risk management in a school environment and provide a management framework for schools to work within. A brief examination of Hounslow's own policies and procedures will be included.

 To consider the risk management process in a school environment
 To consider ways governing bodies can organise their business to ensure that these responsibilities are appropriately met
 To learn about the legal framework in relation to health and safety and governing body's responsibilities.
