Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reation that can develop rapidly and this qualification provides the knowledge and skills to promptly recognise and manage a casualty with anaphylaxis until emergency medical assistance arrives.
This qualification is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards.
The qualification is assessed through practical demonstration and written assessment. The learner must successfully pass both written and practical assessments to achieve the qualification. There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred.
Scenarios will be set to enable a learner to demonstrate their knowledge and practical skills. The practical assessment is ongoing throughout the course but the Trainer will make learners aware of when they are being assessed.
