Code: CPD/22/48 SEND: Supporting pupuls with both ASD and ADHD needs

ADHD is one of the most common childhood conditions and it can continue through adolescence and into adulthood. ADHD is thought to affect between 3-9% of school age children and young people in the UK (NICE, 2013).

Likewise, around 700,000 people in the UK are on the Autism Spectrum. Together with their families they make up around 2.8 million people whose lives are touched by Autism in the UK alone (National Autism Society, 2016).

This course covers how Autism and ADHD present and interact in individual children. The course provides practical strategies to help practitioners support pupils with both ADHD and ASD as well as support pupils who present with social communication needs and attention difficulties without a formal diagnosis.

Code: CPD/22/80 SEND: SLCN Screening Tool - Secondary

Our screening assessment tool uses pictures and tasks to help identify children who may have speech, language or communication difficulties.  By completing the screen, you will know if the child would benefit from some extra support or whether they would benefit from a referral to the Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service (CSLT).

To ensure you get the most out of screening tool, we have developed a video which talks you through completing the screen and provides you with some useful tips, which we will send to you under separate cover.
